WHAT'S A SOFT CORSET?

Better known as 'corset tops', they don’t include boning - unlike traditional corsets -,
but maintain the same design, thus offering a very similar fit with greater comfort
for the day-to-day.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN DIFFERENCES BETWEEN A SOFT CORSET AND A FULLY-BONED CORSET?

Soft corsets and full corsets have exactly the same “cut”, but there are differences
regarding the “base” model, the structure and the fit.

SOFT CORSETS

CORSETs

BASE MODEL

Inclusion of only “technical” boning, placed next to the eyelets for stability purposes.

Fully boned pieces (front, diagonal, sides and back).

STRUCTURE

Both have a very tight fit (they stay close to the body and allow you to compress your figure as much as you want, regardless of the boning inclusion, since they’re always made out of thicker fabrics), but soft corsets are always a little more comfortable.

BUST FIT

Enhancement of the natural contour/shape of the bust (almost like a regular top).

Deeper “vertical” neckline (when seen from above), with a “pushing” effect. Laterally they compress the bust a little more.

WHAT BONING DO YOU USE?

Most corsets include synthetic whale-bone boning, in different widths.

HOW DO I PUT ON A PIECE?

  1. Unlace the straps;
  2. Put the piece backwards (the back of the piece on your stomach) and lace the string through the first 2 eyelets;
  3. Grab one of the ends and lace it in a zig zag pattern;
  4. Repeat with the second end but don’t tie it too tightly;
  5. Turn the piece to the correct side;
  6. Make sure the piece is placed correctly: the back should be right below the end of your shoulder blade*  [tip: grab your breasts and pull them up before tighten the piece to assure the fullest décolletage];
  7. Pull the laces to secure the piece completely and tie a knot;
  8. Lastly, tie the straps and you’re ready to go!
